i had heard from many people that this movie was excellent, so i finally got off my ass and rented it. i quite enjoyed it, except i pretty much predicted the entire ending halfway throughout the movie. but that’s just because i’m a big loser who tries to predict the outcomes of films halfway throughout them.

nicholas cage’s obsessive compulsive character reminded me a lot of jack nicholson’s character in as good as it gets, but with more facial twitches. alison lohman is so frickin’ cute in this movie with her braces and skateboard and pigtails. i just wanted to have a fourteen-year-old daughter so i could dress her up in equally cute roxy outfits. and i so remember sam rockwell from charlie’s angels now!

overall, the movie was entertaining and i really liked the father-daughter relationship that came about between roy and angela. however, i couldn’t get over the usual supsects effect of this movie (if any one of you understands what i mean).
