Men in Black II
2002 Comedy, Sci-Fi
there’s not much i can say about this movie that hasn’t already been said — and that is “it sucked big time”. will smith was not even remotely funny in the role that solidified his movie star status (apart from bad boys). i feel bad that tommy lee jones had to resort to doing a half-assed sequel to a gem of a comedy. hello? didn’t this guy win an oscar?
lara flynn boyle looks sickly in this movie. i’ve seen her in the practice and i don’t ever remember her looking so anorexic. the whole serpent villain seemed like a mirror image of the bug villain of the first men in black film. and rosario dawson… i don’t quite understand the attraction to this actress. i saw her picture in maxim magazine’s “top 50 hottest women” and i could not for the life of me understand how she could appear between alyssa milano and kelly hu. she looks like will smith’s brother in this movie.
ok, enough with the insults based on physical values. men in black ii was such a disappointment to me because i loved the creativity and comedy in the first one. i felt that the sequel lacked the elements that made the first such a classic in my book. what happened to funny will smith? did he finally run out of jokes? i didn’t really find the michael jackson appearance very funny; it actually scared the bejesus out of me. and the ball-chinian thing was outright gross; if i wanted to see real nuts on someone’s chin, i’d rent a porno.
