Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
2002 Sci-Fi
i finally watched star wars: episode ii tonight. the plot was as good as any other george lucas film, but the CG made up for the failed sparks between hayden christensen and natalie portman. they were even better than that of spider-man, for obvious reasons in funding and budgets, i suppose.
the love scenes (if you can even call them that) between the budding jedi knight, anakin skywalker, and senator amidala were just as corny as those of peter parker and mary-jane watson. but the fact that you know darth vader prevails as crazy-ass mo’fo in the next segment makes the film all the more intriguing. i don’t know which was better: hayden and his adorable smirk or someone yelling “homo!” during the fireplace scene. you be the judge.
although the movie did not claim a laughable place on the cinematic suck-o-meter, i still do not think the movie is worth lining up for tickets for days and even weeks. watch triumph the wonder-dog tear some dorks up as they wait in line. and they aren’t the kind of geeks i like, before you ask.
