- having been read the book annually as a child, i really liked the story.
- i watched this movie in 3D, so everything looked amazingly real to me.
- the main character was really cute — not in a pedophilic, i-want-daniel-radcliffe kind of way.
- the additions and changes to the original story made the plot more thrilling and suspenseful.
- tom hanks as almost every character was kind of neat… and somewhat creepy.
- the sequence on the train where the conductor starts singing “hot, hot! yeah, we got it!”, with the homosexual french men serving hot chocolate in the background, was surprisingly fun.
- i thought the abandoned workshops at the north pole were very eerie and unsettling, not like the cheerful “santa’s workshop” i’d imagined as a child.
