Underworld
2003 Action, Fantasy
underworld was a melange of hollywood crapolla. pity, i thought i’d at least be pleasantly surprised with it. instead, i was forced to watch a coagulated mess of blade, interview with a vampire, x-men, with a dash of the matrix.
the first half was decent. though, as intriguing as the initial concept was, it didn’t salvage the rest of the movie. first of all, the vampires bit a total of one (1) person in the duration of two hours. and they had friggin’ reflections. and they didn’t even sleep during the day time (if they had even bothered to show day time). if the movie is going to try and tap into a supernatural market, at least keep some of the general conventions. sheesh! what was the point of the war being between vampires and werewolves? all they did was shoot automatic firearms at one another. the movie could have been about afghani warriors and still have made more sense.
the only redeeming quality of this film was scott speedman’s role in it. what a bad, bad movie. on a lighter note, i want to watch my life without me. i hope it’s full of scott speedman goodness.
