Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!
2004 Romance

first off, let me start by saying that i love topher grace. every movie he’s been in (or, rather, made a cameo in) has been made that much better by his presence. and josh duhamel? more hotness. it’s weird because i used to see him all the time on the soap opera all my children, but i never found him very attractive. kate bosworth ain’t so bad herself.

with that aside, win a date with tad hamilton! was pure fluff. not the bad kind, really. it was cute and well paced, but overall it followed the same formula as the next chick flick. nerdy best guy-friend likes cute best girl-friend, but cute best girl-friend falls for hot, suave actor-man. there’s nothing much in the way of unpredictability in a movie which seems to follow the same brainwave of teeny-bopper magazines. nathan lane and sean hayes, who play tad hamilton’s agent and manager, respectively, are somewhat extraneous characters whom the movie could do without.

the one excellent thing about the movie is its soundtrack, which features some really great songs. i sort of felt like i was trapped in an episode of dawson’s creek with some of the music, but overall i thought the music director (is that what they’re called?) did a good job placing the songs throughout the movie.

if you like watching hotness light up the screen, then i urge you to rent this movie. don’t expect any intellectual fireworks, though.

Final Thoughts
a cute chick flick and, yeah… that’s pretty much it.
